Santa Claus is coming to town

With the holiday season approaching that can only mean one thing, Hamilton’s annual Santa Claus Parade.

The festive event was on Nov. 16, It started around 2 p.m. and travelled from Upper Sherman to Lime Ridge Mall.

Many citizens started to claim their seats early to have the best view of Santa and the floats.

Hamilton’s mayor, Andrea Horwath, was in attendance and helped kick off the parade along with the Burlington Tour Band.

The parade also had many other companies and businesses involved including Coca-Cola, plenty of Dance Academies showing off their dance moves, Hamilton Police, and some City Councillors as well.

Also in attendance was Hamilton’s Brink’s Company, who shared why they decided to join this year’s parade. “To us, security is such a big thing,” a representative at the parade said. “We just want to give back to the community and show everybody that you can always have fun at work.”

Most floats were handing out goods to the audience like sweets, candy canes and pamphlets allowing for a more immersive and fun atmosphere for the kids.

The big finale was at the end, with the big man in the red suit making an appearance wishing everyone happy holidays.
