Mohawk College’s Residence building is situated on the west side of the Fennell Campus, and is home to students from all over Canada and plenty of international students as well.
Mohawk Residence was known for getting students engaged in campus life and would host events ranging from weekly movie nights to start-of-the-year ice breakers.
In 2020, all these events came to an abrupt halt when Residence students were told to move out and return home, and the campus shut down due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Bryce Burt, a student who lived in Residence in the 2019/2020 school year, was one of many shocked by the news.
“We were told in the span of one day that COVID-19 was too serious and the school was closed for at least the next two weeks,” Burt said. “When it became clear that we wouldn’t be returning for the rest of the semester, we had to come back and fully move out as soon as we could.”

The residence remained this way for the entire 2020/2021 school year, and it wasn’t until the Fall of 2021 that students finally returned to in-person classes and activities.
Fall 2022 was the first time everything returned to normal
Today, students can enjoy all the bells and whistles that come with being a student living on-campus and partake in the local festivities, enjoy the food available at Mohawk’s food court, and take advantage of Mohawk’s gym.
