Students at Mohawk College were given the opportunity to learn about services available on campus today (Sept. 20) at the Campus Life Expo.
The event was held in the MCACES Learning Link at the Mohawk Fennell campus. A variety of tables were set up in the area, with each table occupied by a Mohawk staff member offering information to students about the campus service on display.
Student Life, Social Inc., the Centre for Entrepreneurship and the Health & Wellness Centre were a few of the campus services in attendance. Andrea Brienesse, the event coordinator, said the Campus Life Expo is held every semester for new and returning students.
“It’s a great event,” said Brienesse. “It’s a great opportunity for students to pass by, stop in and meet some of the Mohawk staff that are here to support them.”
Many of the booths at the Campus Life Expo offered free swag such as pencils, bags, stickers and travel mugs. Other tables allowed students a chance to enter a draw to win other prizes. Mohawk student Ana Maria Arias attended the expo and said she found the event to be informative.
“They are giving us a lot of information about the student life, how to get involved at the college, how we can join any club,” said Arias. “I think that it’s really helpful that they are giving (information on) financial assistance.”
For students who missed the event today, there is an opportunity to attend the virtual Campus Life Expo tomorrow from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. To register, visit mohawkcollege.ca/form/cleform.
