Music from around the world could be heard coming from the Student Life Space as students and staff kicked off International Education Week with an appreciation social.

International students were welcomed into the space to play games and activities, eat snacks, share culture, and socialize with one another.
International student Kevwe Itiveh comes to the space often.
“There’s always beautiful new music from different parts of the world that we listen to, and you get to share and write your language from your country on different parts of the wall,” she said. “People are just having fun playing games and having a nice time.”

International Education week will be continuing at Mohawk with a variety of other events and socials. Student Development Coordinator Marta Linde described some of what staff has planned.
“Thursday, we have an alumni panel, so we’re going to have some international students who have graduated from Mohawk and are working in their fields come and talk to international students at the college about the experience looking for work,” she stated. “We’re just trying to help students get to know each other and show them how much we appreciate international students.”
