Lions, Tiger-Cats and Bears Oh My! Trick or Treating at Tim Hortons Field

The wind was strong but the Halloween spirit was high as families took to the Tim Hortons Field for a trick-or-treat event.

The Tiger-Cats stadium became the hosting venue for its second annual trick-or-treat event on Oct. 20. The queue to enter the stadium stretched down the block as parents with their eager children, adorned in a wide variety of costumes ranging from dinosaurs and cats to classic video game characters and ninjas, waited to step foot onto the playing field.

Run by The Side Hustle Events alongside the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, the event was held from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., where attendance was free to all. Donations to Mission Services of Hamilton such as menstrual products, socks, and shower products were strongly encouraged.

Vendors occupied the sidelines and attendees in costumes ranging from Princess Peach to Spongebob accepted candy and browsed the products for sale. Some of the vendors included Delusional Sauce, The Grave Vintage, and Unsalted Honey, along with various pop-up shops selling jewelry, soaps, and hand-crocheted plushies.

There was even an opportunity to get various styles of face painting, held by Hamiltonian face painter and makeup artist Melody Groove.

Once candy was claimed and vendors were browsed, families took to the open field to mingle and run around, enjoying the sunny fall afternoon.

The Side Hustle Events will also be participating in Hamilton Day at the Collective Arts Brewery, where they will be hosting their third pop-up market, featuring shopping, live music, and delicious food.
