Dyment’s Farm pumpkin patch is open for the season

The sound of children’s laughter can be heard throughout Dyment’s Farm as visitors make their way through the fun family-friendly activities available.

Open for its seasonal pumpkin patch event, Dyment’s welcomes the community onto its grounds for fall festivities.

Upon entry to the farm, visitors have a wide range of activities to choose from.

“We have a wagon ride that takes you around the Escarpment, then we have the pick-your-own-pumpkins, we have animals that you can see, a corn maze, and a haunted house,” employee Abby Mann said.

Other activities include a mini golf course, two playgrounds, and plenty of festive photo opportunities.

Hungry visitors can buy a snack from the Dyment’s food truck, and sweets such as candy apples can be bought at the Apple Nook.

Farm manager Alex Dyment says the farm has a rich family history.

“The farm was purchased by the Dyment family in 1887, so it’s been in the [family] for about five generations now, who have worked and lived on the farm,” Dyment said.

The farm is fully functional, so visitors can purchase a variety of goods produced on the farm such as meat, vegetables, and baked goods.

The pumpkin patch event started at the beginning of October and runs until the end of the month.

Entrance to the farm costs $16 per person, and children under two get in for free.

The entry fee does not cover food or the cost of purchasing pumpkins.
