If you are looking for a quiet way to spend a Monday night, Collective Arts has the answer.
Last night, the brewery hosted its weekly “Basement Tapes and Boardgames” event.
Each week, the Taproom screen’s classic movies on VHS, featuring films such as “Alien” and “GoldenEye.”
These films can be seen on a period correct television placed in the corner of the bar.
Alongside this, guests can enjoy a selection of board games placed on the main long table in the middle of the bar.
Guests are also encouraged to bring their own favorite board games.
Despite the event’s setup, attendance has been lower than anticipated.
This has raised questions about why more people are not taking advantage of everything Collective Arts has to offer.
Regular patron Katie Allday spoke very highly about this event while playing Scrabble with her friends.
“The vibe in here is awesome,” Allday said. “I don’t understand why it isn’t packed every week.”
Beyond board games and movies, Collective Arts offers $6 core brews throughout the night.
The Taproom boasts a wide menu with over 20 beers on tap, alongside an array of spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages.
For those looking for a more low-key night out, Collective Art’s offers an experience that sets itself apart from the city’s regular bar and club scene.
Bartender Kyle Fisher invites people to come and see what the Taproom has to offer.
“If you’re looking to have a quiet date night or a nice night out with a few friends, there’s always something going on here,” Fisher said. “Compared to the Beergarden, the Taproom is a cozier, more intimate sort of atmosphere.”
While it may not attract large crowds yet, the event offers a change of pace for those seeking an affordable, relaxed night out.
For those who missed it this week, the Taproom hosts this event every Monday night from 6 p.m to 9 p.m.
